   Dr. Haim (Efim) Shtarker graduated from the Cheliabinsk Medical School, USSR in1986. After completion of a one-year internship program at the Mozir Regional Hospital in Belorussia, USSR, he continued on to a Specialization Course in Orthopedics at the Orthopaedics Institute, Kiev, USSR. After immigrating to Israel, he went on to do his residency in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, at the Galilee Medical Center, Nahariya after which he proceeded to do a Clinical Fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Institute, Stanmore, London, UK and subsequently, a Clinical Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedics at Dallas Medical City, Dallas Texas, USA.

   Upon his return to Israel, Dr. Shtarker was a Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Department of Surgery at the Galilee Medical Center, Nahariya and went on to fulfill the position of Director, Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery Unit at the Galilee Medical Center in 2006. Since 2013, Dr. Shtarker serves as Director, Dept. of Orthopedics “A”, Galilee Medical Center.

   Dr. Shtarker actively participates in the teaching of medical students and orthopedic residents along with clinical research. He has received several awards for Outstanding Lecturer from the Faculty of Medicine, Technion, Haifa.

Dr. Shtarker has written seven book chapters as well as having published many papers in professional journals. He is a lecturers and an invited speaker to many national as well as international conferences.

   Dr. Shtarker serves as President Elect of the Israeli Orthopaedic Association since 2018. He is a member of a number of other prestigious medical societies which include: the Israeli Medical Association, Israeli Orthopaedic Association, Israeli Society for Sports Medicine, ASAMI Israel and AO Trauma Europe. He is also a corresponding Member of ASAMI, North America as well as an affiliated member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
